The Clover Amour Soft Grip Crochet Hooks are a favourite of many crocheters. The hooks are easy to hold for both pencil and knife grips. They are ergonomically shaped and have a flattened thumb rest. This allows you to relax your grip on the hook which in turn improves your stitch tension and of course the stress on your muscles. This is especially noticeable for the smaller hook sizes, compared to standard metal hooks.
The head of the hook is slightly pointed, making it easier to insert your hook into (tight) stitches. The handle of the hook measures 10cm (4in), and the shaft and head measure 4cm (2.5in). Together this makes for a crochet hook that’s 14cm (5.5in). Each hook comes in its own colour, making it easier to recognize which size is which and to remember the size you used for a project. This set contains a 2.0mm, 2.50mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm and a 6.0mm hook. The hooks all fit in a base pad that’s included with the set.
The major difference between Etimo Tulip Soft Grip Crochet Hooks and these hooks is that the groove below the head of the hook is rounded. This means that your stitches ‘hook’ behind your hook better and are less likely to slip off of your needle. However, depending on your method of crocheting this can also mean that your stitches might get ‘hooked’ behind your hook. It all depends on your method of crocheting and if you are in doubt between the two brands, we recommend you try one of each before ordering a set.
